Party I favpr the most

I favor the Democrats more then the Republicans. I don't exactly agree with all their ideas because there is always a downfall to them. I am an independent when i comes to saying what political party i favor the most, because Republicans also have some good ideas like in the AIMS. Without the standerized test not many students would care about school

Hurricane Gustav

Hasn't New Orleans already suffered enough because of hurricanes? Over the years New Orleans Has suffered a lot especially because hurricanes. In 2005 New Orleans was hit with the most dangerous hurricane yet to have hit New Orleans. It left behind a city shattered by death, floods and ruin. On the third anniversary of the storm that destroyed the city and has left it still struggling to recover. Weather Forecasters announced Hurricane Gustav on August 25, 2008. But was New Orleans spared?
Hurricane Gustav was formed in August 25,2008 going southeast of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and rapidly strengthened into a tropical storm. On August 26 Hurricane Gustav was considered a hurricane when it was completely formed. That same day Hurricane Gustav made land fall near the Haitiana Town of Jacmel. It hit Jamaica and ravaged Western Cuba and then steadily moved across the Gulf of Mexico. When Hurricane Gustav was Formed it was a category 3.But they were wrong.
Weather forecasters believed that as Hurricane Gustav got nearer to the U.S it would become stronger. But on September 1, Hurricane Gustav hit Louisiana but as a category 2. As 4 hours went by Hurricane Gustav fell into a category 1. So it proves that the weather forecasters were wrong. After many people heard that Hurricane Gustave decreased in categories it relieved a lot of people from their worries. But not from their troubles.Many people weren't ready for another repeat like Hurricane Katrina. Many New Orleans officials lost $2 billion dollars in reconstructing part of New Orleans but many were afraid it would be gone to waste.
After Hurricane Gustav hit it left at least 8 people dead and a cost of $5 billion in two states.four in traffic accidents and three from falling trees in Baton Rouge and Lafayette — along with three patients who died as they were being evacuated to hospitals or nursing homes beyond the hurricane's reach. Hurricane Gustav cracked tree branches, knocked out power to a million homes and triggered localized flooding, but apparently spared the vulnerable New Orleans levee system. Mayor Ray Nagin, who orchestrated a successful effort to evacuate nearly all of his city's 310,000 residents ahead of Gustav, was confident enough to start talking about letting citizens return to their homes as early as Tuesday. When Hurricane Gustav was announced many charities got to work. Bush says that a lot of people handled Hurricane Gustav better than Hurricane Katrina.
Many people are ready to go back to their homes in New Orleans. But Mayor Ray Nagin, is still having people check the damage. Hurricane Gustav showed the vulnerabilities in the levee's. But many people are already doubting the next storms to come. Hurricane Katrina prepared New Orleans and Louisiana for Hurricane Gustav.

What was the greatest thing I have learned this year?

The greatest thing i have learned would be the Great Depression and the Civil war. I feel that i have learned most from them because i have really learned or seen pictures of how these events happened. These lessons and everything else that all my teachers have taught me have really opened my eyes. From the way see people and how i see the world. 7th grade for me and probably for anyone else has taught me to know who really is my friend. Because some friends can call themselves your friends and behind your back they talk about you really bad.That's what i feel i have learned all year.

Career

What makes a job good? What makes a job good is how the other employees treat you and how the boss treats you. What makes a job good is if you enjoy that job you are doing. What makes a job good if you get paid well. What makes a job bad is if you try to talk to your boss and if he or she yells at you and doesn't pay attention to you. What makes a job bad is if you don't get paid right, and if other employees treat you bad and discriminate you. The job i want to do is be a lawyer. The one job I really don't want to do is working in McDonalds.

Art or Crime?

I think this is art.I think that because art expresses and shows how you feel. Art is a message no matter where it is. The message that they wrote is a good message. Because they before this message was found they killed thousands of Buddhist monks, so they had a reason to make that tag on the wall. Why did the police kill monks, in the first place?So people can't consider this picture a crime. I consider this art. That's what i think of this picture. In the picture they showed a police men slaughtering a monk. It's not crime it's a message. It's asking how long will they kill monks, and not do anything about it.

Could The Great Depression happen again?

Yes, i do think that The Great Depression could happen again. I think mostly now, because of Global Warming. Some stocks are going down. Mostly because of Global Warming.Because of global warming produce is going down. oil, is even getting hard to find.Some companies could experience The Great Depression worser than back then.That's why i think The Great Depression can happen again.

What i see in this picture is a sign.That sign says that "Jobless men keep going. We can't take care of our own. " I guess what they are trying to say is that. during the great depression they couldn't take care of their workers.So, maybe then men would leave states to go look for a job.And that sign they have in the background is what put so, when someone asks why are they leaving, they would look up at the sign and that would answer their question. The difficulties they had was men leaving states to go look for jobs. So it affected the population, and the economy.

Audience of the play

The way mi want the audience to react is emotional. I want them to go WOW the Andromeda team did that? I want them to see how the border changes people.I want them to know that even though we're from different races we all have problems, some maybe the same or similar. I want them to go Wow i've never thought the border can impact so many people's lives.That's how i want the audience to react. That's what i want them, to learn.

What I see in this picture is that there is a lot of women that are marching down the street , and in the picture they are holding the American flag. They're holding banners that say vote for women. In the picture all the women are wearing white.I think that the method they are using is involving children in the march.They are marching down the street to get attention , so i guess that is another method. There are ladies in this picture that have babies so I'm guessing that they are girls.What i feel that they are trying to say is that little girls should growing up with the same rights as men do.

Do women have the same rights as men in America?

Yes i strongly agree that women have the same rights as men in America.I agree because it's not fair if men get to do something , and when women want to do something, they can't cause men think they're better than anyone. If it weren't for women men wouldn't even be here.What if there's a women that is a widow, and she needs to pay the rent? How is she going to do that if she doesn't even have the right to work? She would have to go homeless because she can't work. During the pledge it says that it's one nation. So it means women have to be treated the same way as men do, well, not treated but have the same rights.

How would I respond?

The way i would respond to the picture is, wow, that person whoever made it must be really racist to African-Americans. That this person whoever made this picture and doesn't matter what race he or she is from this image is racist. Even if you are from the same race, it just wrong. If your from that race and you make pictures like that then you are really wrong. You should have pride for your race. Not too much pride where then you make fun of other race but at least have some decency to take pride in you race.I would be really wrong if you do that. That's my way on how i would respond to that.

The poem that i read is trying to figure out what something is. It ask so many is questions so i think that it's trying to figure out something.I guess it just was just describing something they want to see. So they try to describe it. I guess that at the end they probably thought that something was exploding.Someone must have been trying to figure out what there dream is. I guess this person was trying really hard to figure it out that they came up with the whole explode thing.

What is freedom? What does it mean to be free?

Freedom is when you aren't being controlled by other people. Freedom is everyone's right. Freedom is something we are born with. Freedom is when you can do whatever you want with out being controlled. Free is when you don't have to be mistreated. Being free is when you can be able to control your own life. Back when they had slaves , slaves would do anything to be free. That's what free means.Being free means to have your voice of opinion heard.

Why do people hate? What is the cause of most hate?

People hate because people don't have anything better to do. People hate Because they think they're better than people when they know they're not. People hate because they blame people for all of their problems. People hate because they hate themselves and take it out on others. People hate because they can't appreciate everything they have and get. People that hate should just learn to appreciate. Hating won't get you nothing but more hating.
The cause for most hate is even bigger hate. Once that hate is so big than it will just bring a death. From that death people should have to at least learn hating is wrong but that death will mean nothing. That death will bring a war. That war will continue to bring more hate. Hating will kill all those who want to stand against it, die. So much hating will bring nothing.

What project or event have i participated with the IMPACT program?

The projects i have participated is the mural. Those are the only ones i have participated with. I participated after school to help out. An event that me and my family have been to are the two family nights that the IMPACT hosted. I have been to the car wash that the IMPACT did.These are the only events and projects that i have participated.I still plan to participate in more projects and events.
Do i think that the IMPACT program is making a difference in the school, the community, and to the Borman students? Well, i do think we are. I think that because our community see the difference we do, like with the graffiti busting. We also put the example of helping not destroying our community to other schools and to our Borman students. When we paint the murals we change our school, we change the way it looks. The murals in our school help other students feel more at home then just a plain school.That's how i think our school is changing our community.

I agree with the belief of questioning everything. I believe it because if you don't question everything then sometimes you won't know everything.Sometimes it's not right to question something too much. Sometimes it's better not to question many things but if you don't then how will you know? If you don't question many things things people won't tell you the truth. Some people may say it's okay just tell her lie she or he won't ask why. So sometimes it's okay to question everything. Sometimes you have to know when you should stop question everything.

I agree with the belief that technology is important. I think that because in our time right now everything is technology. Every where you look there's technology everywhere. Like phones, mp3's, computers, stereos...etc. Technology is our lives. We spend every little bit of our time with or on technology. Not many people can live without technology.That's why I believe that technology is important.

I think that this image is an example of modernism because i think that his guy just looking at fantasy and dream run away. This image might be an example of how people questioned everything they thought of and all their beliefs. This guy must have believed that unicorns existed but now he questions everything.I think that this image conveys to surrealism, Because this man might be losing the belief of his imagination. This image of a unicorn just passes through the guy's face so i think that this man's beliefs are just floating right past him. That's why i think that this image is surrealism.

My opinion is that it's not art. To others it might be considered as art, but it's my opinion. To others some might think that it's a unique piece of art. The reason i don't think it's art is because i looks weird. This image reminds me of a toilet. To others it may look like something i have never seen. Should art be beautiful? I think art should be beautiful, because people used their imaginations to make something that can be considered art. Not many people have the talent of making art. The point of music is to entertain people. Music should make you feel emotional. Music helps other people see their points of view or music sometimes is about everyday things. Some people use music to escape from their problems. Music sends out messages to everyone. Although some people don't take the time to listen for the message at first they eventually know the message. Even though you or someone else like listening to different music every type of music share the same thin. They entertain you.
Good music is music that makes you dance or make you feel happy. Many people have different ideas of goos music. What makes a song good is the singer. Sometimes if the singer doesn't use emotion then you won't feel anything when you hear it. A good song is not just a word that repeats over and over again. A good song says something truthful. A good song makes you feel emotional. Some people have different ideas of a good song and that's okay.

What does it mean to be human? My opinion of being human is living. Living is one of the things we should be grateful for. Some people don't see how living is something you don't get a second chance for. People think that living is just a heavy burden because they usually have problems.Some of their problems are to much for them that they decide to end their life, or destroy it. Life is the cause of meaningful experiences.
The point of life is not my place to tell anyone. My opinion is that life is to have fun. Not have too many stress or problem. Life isn't here to make you feel useless. The purpose of life is to enjoy and make the most of everything. Life shouldn't feel like a burden. I feel that life is one of the gifts that I will always cherish.

War would lead to better technology because most countries don't want to lose a war. Most countries offer up money for any invention that can be used to defeat an enemy. Some countries when they see inventions more than expected they buy or make the inventor destroy it. Usually if a nation doesn't take that invention the other nation tries to buy it off the inventor.Some civilians don't want to lose in a war so they try to invent dangerous weapons to be used. Some inventions were guns bombs. Some people really don't want to lose a war so they do anything to invent a dangerous weapon.

How did things change during modernism?

The way things changed during modernism is that before people thought that the wold was getting better. Then after the war people started saying that the world isn't getting better.Some people believed that art was suppose to be beautiful, then some started to say that art is ugly, and everything is ugly. When the war was barely starting some people started to say that war was like a game.Some of the soldiers hat came back had a lot of flashbacks. Some of the flashbacks were so violent and so terrible that some of the soldiers were put on suicidal watch. Most soldiers couldn't stand a whole day working because of the flash backs.

Is it good to love your nation? Well, yes i think loving your nation is good. I think that because if you love your country you are willing to do good for your nation. If you love your nation and some state that is in your nation is in trouble, you are willing to help to donate or help out that state that is in your nation.It's good to love your nation because you love the land you live on. If you love your nation then you love the nation that is producing food to give to your family.If you love your nation that is your choice. I love my nation becuase this is the nation that is helping my family to move towards a better future.
There are people that love their nation so much that they are capable of doing so many dumb stuff. Like for example if you know that your nation is not prospering, an if you are willing to steal and break an alliance, just so that your nation prospers then I would really recommend you see a doctor. If you are willing to put your nation through a devastating war then you really don't love your nation. If there was or is a leader that thinks that they should take over another nation so that they can make their nation look better , than i want to ask you one question, would this act benefit your nation or will it benefit you? I don't think it's good to love your nation too much because sometimes loving your nation will drive you mad. There are people that love their nation so much that they are capable of hurting others that don't like that nation.If you walk by someone saying some type of race is dumb, and there is a group of people from that race they will be willing to hurt you so that they can make their nation look good. Those people that hurt others like that are just making their nation look bad.

Do i believe that if the world is getting better? I think that the world is getting worser. I think that because the world is being polluted. There is more and more violence in the world. The world is getting worser because of global warming. I think that soon that some animals that are existing already will go extinct. Global warming will cause many weather problems. Global warming will also cause many supplies to go low .
I believe that the world, is getting worser because the o-zone layer is already getting thin. We already have enough weather issues. When global warming gets worser we will be feeling mother earths fury. A lot of animals are already suffering enough because of mother nature. They are suffering more because of what human kind is doing to the planet.The world is getting worser because the crimes on the streets have grown every where. The crimes haven't just increased in America but in the whole world. If you go to a nation the first thing you here on their news is a crime.

How is McDonald's part of imperialism? McDonald's, has the largest restaurant industries. There is always a McDonald's. It's global. Wal-Mart also participates in imperialism. Wal-mart takes over little markets, or super centers when they are going out of business.

I know that Bush didn't try to interact with Iraq. I think America interacts with other Nations by the United Nations. I think that we shouldn't get involved in other nations and try to practice imperialism with them right now. If we do try to change other nations then we will be the cause of another world war. The way we should respond to other nations is, being respectful to other nations, and help them out with their problems ,if that nation needs hep. The reason why we should help other nations is because if we need help maybe that nation won't hesitate to help.

I think that the war with Iraq is a sign of imperialism because, Bush wants to own oil instead of buying it. Some people think that the war with Iraq was because of nuclear weapons. Some people think that the war was also about the terrorism here in America caused by Iraq. The truth is that none of those are the reasons. The really reason is about oil. I think we should continue the war with Iraq. I want it to continue because a lot of soldiers have given their lives to protect America. I think it would be a waste of their memories that we just give up. If we do give up the war what will the government do about the soldiers families? Well obviously they are just going to give them a medal and that's it. That medal won't take away a families grief and loss. I want the war with Iraq to end. Ways that America participated in imperialism in the past was the war with the Spanish to conquer Cuba. How did they participate? Well they saw that Cuba wanted their own independence. Since they wanted their own independence they didn't have enough equipment to fight them with. So, America helped Cuba get their own independence and then when they were free America conquered them. They practiced imperialism with Hawaii. Americans went over to Haw ii all armed. They put a gun to the queens head and said they want to buy Hawaii. That's how they practiced imperialism.

I think this picture means that America thinks of them self's big and mightier than any other nation. I think this because the bald eagle is bigger and standing on top of America and all the other nation's symbols are very small. This picture is trying to say " We are bigger and better than any other country." I think this picture represents what they thought of in 1878 so that was then. What does the government think now? I think they still have the same idea that they are greater but a little less above their head.At the same time the eagle has a posture of protection. It's like if it's trying to protect the other nations. That posture is sort of true, because America would protect their allies.
I think America still practices imperialism because even though they are not powerful by land they are by money. People thought that the war with Iraq is about terrorism and land,(that's what i thought), but it's about oil. I really don't know why Bush would be in Egypt negotiating for oil if they are fighting for oil.I didn't think that America would be imperialism because they seemed very nice but since i entered fifth grade i have noticed more that America is imperialism, but they do that's what the war with Iraq is about. America doesn't practice imperialism that much with many nations but only with Iraq. I really don't think that a war for oil is a very good idea because we have other allied nations with oil.

A country would practice imperialism first because they want to know if they are capable of taking over another country. If they can't control their country first then they shouldn't control another country. A reason why a nation would try taking over another nation is because they want power.Some nations think that the only way to show the world your greatness is by starting to rule one nation at a time. Some nation might show their greatness in the wrong way. A second reason they would want to take over another nation is that they want natural resources. They would want hotel, mine, and all that kind of stuff you would want from your neighbors.That is why nations would take over other nations. I also think they would want to take over another nation, for money. They would only attack if that nation is weak and vulnerable.

The time we should intervene in a nation's business is when, that nation asks for advice. Why that specific time is because maybe the government wants to know a better way to attract tourist . Maybe that nation wants to know how they can improve their government.If a government is planning to start a war, well of course we have to intervene if it's a war against us we have to try and negotiate. If that government is planning to start a war with a different nation maybe we should ask why they are planning something like that and if it is one of our allies then maybe we should talk them out of planning a war.If there is an allied nation that they are going to siege or something like that of course America has to intervene. We should warn our Allie and then we could try talking things out but i don't they would want to talk about negotiation.
I don't think intervening is such a good thing because if you don't want someone or a Nation to get in your business they are still going to intervene. If you find out someone was intervening you wouldn't feel right talking on the phone if someone is listening to your conversation. I think racism comes from one another its like fire spreading from person to person until it's in everyone. Racism starts with confusion and then it starts invading what you think about that race until you finally start hating them. When people get the wrong idea from one person from a different idea of someone and their from a different race then they start getting all races. Racism starts from rumors on what they start from other races and then some people hear them then they start getting the wrong idea and then they start feeling insecure about that race and they start hating them. Racism starts like if you don't know a person that is from a different race your afraid to ask and if that person is a trouble maker of course your gonna think that all people of that race act like that.
I don't think it's possible fro racism to stop because you can't control what people think about each race. There will always be races people but no one can do anything about it. Racism is a part of life. If racism is done then people would have to understand each other. I don't even think someone can achieve racism peace. But if there is someone who is willing to do something about racism i would be willing to help. There will always be someone that will oppose you on your ideas so it will be hard to stop racism to stop.I would try and make people from other races get together and talk about each of everyone's races and then everyone could talk about what they think about some races and is they dislike someone then we would try to convince that not all people from that race are like that.

I think it is our job to protect America. I think this because we as kids are the future of America. Right now America isn't doing so well with the topic of immigration but maybe in the future someone will fix it. If we don't protect America, America will fall and everyone in it will stop prospering and start losing a lot of money and everything. We can make America better if we put effort into it.America whether we want to believe it or not is our home as long as we're in it we have to protect it.If we don't protect America there will be no country all the immigrants can come and live a better life. Some people and i believe you do too have a lot of cherished memories here and if we don't protect America no one will and there will be no memories that can be cherished.A lot of soldiers die protecting America and they don't even get recognized i would think that if we don't protect America they would have died for no reason.
I also disagree with it being our job protecting America because if the president and some people don't put their part of the weight then why should people go fight wars and protect America if no one is willing to help.I don't see why we should waste our time protecting America if everyone trashes America and says nasty thing about America.

What would I say to our next president?

What i would ask is what will he or she do about immigration? The reason i will ask them about immigration is because will immigrants still be afraid to come out of their homes or go anywhere? Will all immigrants be able to stay in America? I would want to know if they or going to fix the idea of immigration or will they continue to be injustice to all the immigrants. If they would still continue to follow the steps of George Bush. I would ask them to change the law of immigration because there are a lot of immigrants that work so hard to make a living and they know that they are illegal, and that one day just deport them back to Mexico or whatever country they came from. Immigrants make up America without them there will be no America. I would be disappointed that if the new president doesn't clean up some of the immigration law and just continues the work of the present president.

I would also ask him/her what are they going to do about the war in Iraq. I think i should ask them about the war because there are a lot of young lives being lost. There are a lot of families grieving on the lost of a family member or Friend. I would ask him/her that if they plan to end the war with Iraq soon or will there still be another couple years of war?Would there be peace with other countries? I want this war to end not just me but many other people. There is a saying that we read out of a book and it goes like this "Old people declare war but it is the young that must fight it. There are soldiers who would fight long and hard for just a piece of colored ribbon." i don't remember who said that but i don't think this saying is right, because it is true but there are soldiers who die trying to earn a ribbon or medal just for fighting. The first part of it is also true because you never see the president fight in the war you see all the young people.

My Goals for third and fourth quarter.

1.Work harder on my grades
2. Try to get better skills on my violin and learn harder music
3. Be a better person to the community

For third and fourth quarter i want to get my grade higher. A way i can try to get my grades up is study for my test longer and pay a bit more attention to my teacher that i need help on. I want to show my parents that i can pull my grades up higher if i work harder. I am going to start working on my grades this quarter all the way up to the end of the school year. I will try to focus harder and try to understand more about what the question asks me than just looking at it and writing something down. For my violin i will try to take my violin home more often and practice my music everyday. To learn harder music i will ask my mom or dad to take me to a music store to buy harder music.I also want to be a better person t the community by helping more people and doing extra community service hours even if i go beyond three to five hours i want to help our community more than i have the past quarters. These are my goals and my plans on how to accomplish them.
